At first glace this may appear to be a wedding photo shoot. Well…um…nope…not exactly. It’s a few years (4 kids!) post wedding.

The story goes like this….this Momma’s four boys saw a picture of her in a wedding dress with their Dad and wondered…why in the world is Mom wearing that white costume. Then, they proceeded to fight over who would have the first dance if Mom ever wore it again. After watching her boys fight over the rights to the first dance, this Mom had the brilliant idea to schedule a photo shoot and capture the moment for eternity. Smart Mom 😉

Well, luck would have it that it started pouring rain just minutes before revealing her “white costume”. After waiting an hour for it to pass we decided we couldn’t wait any longer. Some serious prep work had gone into this (cake, roses, hair, makeup, dress cleaning) and I’m so glad that everything worked out. I’m still wondering how 4 boys managed to wait (patiently) around the kitchen table for 1 hour knowing there was a cake to be eaten.  I’ll never forget the boys complaining about being hungry and their Dad asking them, “How long did Jesus go without food?” After they answered “40 days” they got quiet real quick.

This gives new meaning to the term, First Look. Call me crazy, but I think everyone that has been married for over 10 years should put on their wedding dress and have a first look with their kids. Assuming you can still fit into it like this fab Momma..lol

The oldest had the “first” dance. After Dad, of course. I must say….he had some moves!

What better way to end a photo shoot than eating cake in the rain on wet rocks. Is this family cool, or what!?
