I love everything about this time of year.  The weather. The smells. The festivities. The food. The togetherness.  The songs. The traditions. I could go on forever, but I’ll stop for the sake of boring my blog readers.

My husband only had his first Thanksgiving a few years ago (silly foreigner), but he latched on immediately.  Any holiday that involves just food and family and no presents is good in his book.  I have to agree. I love that Thanksgiving lacks the over commercialized, pressured, gift giving of Christmas, which allows one to focus on the simple fact of being….thankful for that which we have and not what we want.

  1. I’m so thankful for my sisters! When we were younger and used to argue, out aunts would tell us that we had to be sweet to each other because no one loves and will stand by you quite like a sister. It turned out to be so true. I know that no matter what each of us goes through in life, we will always be there to comfort each other and make each other laugh.

  2. I’m thankful for my friends in Lexington. Without them I’d be lost while trying to finish my master’s and find a job. Great photos!!

  3. I’m incredibly thankful for the friends we’ve made here in Clovis. Relocating is not easy but the sweet, sweet spirit of the people of Clovis made all the difference!

  4. Can I enter in the hopes that I can cash in the next time we get together?

I’m so very thankful for my husband, who understands how wonderful it is to come home to a clean kitchen, a dog that’s been fed, and a big hug waiting for me and our son at the end of a long day.

  5. At this time of year I’m especially thankful for my beautiful daughter, amazing husband and our wonderfully big extended family. And I thank God for our good health and the many blessings He has given us!

  6. Oh…this is a hard one. Everyday I wake up I am thankful for the opportunity to have another adventure, change a life and love somebody.

  7. I am thankful for my health! 3 years ago at this time I was going through chemotherapy, and I know there are plenty people out there who are sick and in hospitals as I type!

  8. I am thankful for the life that God has given me. He has given me the gift of breast cancer survivorship and blessed me with an amazing empowered group of friends and family who provide a circle of strength and love around me. I thank God every single day for these gifts!

  9. I am thankful that even though my husband has been gone for months, he is not in harms way. I am thankful that even though my family makes me nuts, I have them to call and hug and laugh with. I am thankful that even though my repair list seems unending, I have a happy home to live in. And I am thankful that even though they are not all within arms reach, I have wonderful friends to reach out to around the world. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

  10. I am thankful for my four beautiful children, my amazing husband, our fantastic extended family, and our supportive church community. We are truly blessed!

  11. I am thankful for the blessings of parents, siblings, and children. For the first time in 8 years, I had the opportunity to spend time with my brother who serves in the U.S. Navy’s submarine corp. It was truly a blessing to be able to hug him after being separated for so long. My parents were doubly best since it was the first time in 8 years both their children were in the same room at the same time. My father-in-law suffers from multiple myeloma and our family is treasuring our moments together as we continue to pray for healing. My dad is healed from prostate cancer and is doing very well. God has been so good to us! Out of difficulty, God always brings goodness. I am so grateful to have experienced His goodness!

  12. I am thankful for each day that I spend with my loving husband and two beautiful children. I am thankful for my wonderful friends, near & far. I am also very thankful to find a fabulous photographer to capture the priceless moments of my family in such a beautiful way (and i do not say that to win…lol…but it is true)

  13. I’m thankful that even though we moved 2000 miles to Clovis and my husband was let go just 4 months after we arrived, we are more united as a family as ever and are open to the possibilities being extended to us as he applies to new positions across the country. We know we’ll end up on top and an even more closely knit family once this is over.

  14. I am first and foremost thankful for such an amazing God we serve who has shown such mercy, grace, and love towards me. I am also thankful for my family and friends they are so special to me.
