With their Daddy deploying in a few short weeks, I felt privileged to be asked to capture this family together. I know what it feels like when you are separated from the person you love most in the world for a long period of time. It’s the days before they leave, the anticipation of their departure that is sometimes the hardest. However, as we took photographs in the park…to me it almost felt like time stood still. For just a few hours there was no rush to tie up loose ends or think about the next few months. It was time to be together. In the moment.

My heart goes out to  all those serving our country both home and away.

This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.  ~Elmer Davis

It’s images like this that remind me why climbing trees, pretending I’m a trapeze artist, to get a shot is worth the aches and pains days later 😉

Can you believe these two have been married 5 years?! It felt like an engagement shoot.

Her Mom had the brilliant idea of bringing her wedding dress…add a few balloons to the mix and suddenly she didn’t feel the 40 degree temps.
